Based in Pocahontas, Arkansas, Dr. Justin Drew Dawson has worked for the Pocahontas Medical Clinic as a family medicine physician for nearly 25 years. His activities in this position primarily include outpatient family medicine services. In 2007, Dr. Justin Drew Dawson was honored with the Public Health Hero, Northeast Region, accolade. He has received additional honors and awards during his career in medicine, including recognition from the Arkansas Congress for his extraordinary response and defense efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr. Justin Dawson’s professional memberships include the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Arkansas Academy of Family Physicians, and the Arkansas Medical Society. He has volunteered with various international medical missions providing critical care to isolated villages located throughout the Amazon Rainforest and other parts of the world.
Dr. Dawson studied medicine in Little Rock at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. After earning his degree, he completed a 3-year family practice residency at the Area Health Education Center Northeast in Jonesboro. He is a member of several professional organizations and the former president of the Arkansas Academy of Family Physicians.
